I remember watching Sesame Street and the shows would be brought to you by a letter(like the letter “Y”) and a number(like 20). So I thought why not have todays newsletter brought to you by the color yellow. Today’s newsletter is brought to you by the color yellow.
There were many yellow things that did not make it into the sketchnote. There were many flowers, like sunflowers, daffodils, and buttercups, that could have been included. I thought about adding a giraffe, but couldn’t quite figure out how to make it look right.
It is interesting that yellow is associated with so many different and often conflicting emotions around the world, but it does make sense that the default emojis are yellow.

I cancelled my subscription to Adobe Creative Cloud over the weekend. It is hard to switch tools that I have been using for over 30 years.
If you are like me and feel frustrated with companies like Adobe and many others adopting AI policies and practices that do not help or foster the creative community that buys and supports their software and tools, you may be looking for other creative software tools.
I made the switch to Affinity, which has a one-time license fee and no ongoing monthly subscription. Affinity has a deal right now to allow everyone to try their software for six months (at the time of this newsletter), regardless of whether you have tried their software before or not.
I’m not getting paid to promote this in any way. I want to help the creative community find tools that support creatives and not train their AI on our creative work.
I still use Concepts.app for my sketchnotes and illustrations, and I’m very happy with their team and efforts to support the community.

Buy Me a Coffee (Ko-Fi.com) makes it easy to support the newsletter and my art. In just a couple of taps, you can make a contribution (buy me a coffee). It doesn't even require you to create an account.
You made it to the end of the newsletter, so here is a video of the song Yellow by Coldplay. 😊
I saw the affinity trial and though I'd need to give it a go. The idea of jumping from mac to ipad sounds tempting. Plus they have tools like publisher with unique functions compared to concepts/procreate. Thanks for the reminder!
