The Magic of Success
This week has been a bit hectic and crazy, so I’m behind schedule.
I have been wanting to create a newsletter that was more like my sketchnotes since I started the newsletter. That is to say, I wanted it to be a mix of handwritten text with my illustrations. I don’t really consider a difference between my sketchnotes and illustrations. Handwriting is honestly just another form of drawing and expressing yourself
.
I have loved wizards, knights, folklore, and magic since I was a boy. It got me to think about Merlin from the King Arthur legends and Harry Potter. What if there was a magic potion or incantation for wealth and prosperity? I could use a potion right now, but that is another tale that I will not bore you with at the moment.
Don’t wait for magic. Keep creating and putting your creations out into the world. The magic will find you.
Be kind to yourself on your creative journey.
The original sketch is from a combination of sketchnotes from my work notebooks that I cut out and taped together in my sketchbook.
Thank you for reading my newsletter. The newsletter and illustrations take time and effort to create. You can support the newsletter and my illustrations by forwarding the newsletter to someone who would like it or by signing up for the paid version. You can also Buy T-Shirts, make a purchase in my digital shop, or give a one-time tip on Buy Me a Coffee.
Buy Me a Coffee (Ko-Fi.com) makes it easy to support the newsletter and my art. In just a couple of taps, you can make a contribution (buy me a coffee). It doesn't even require you to create an account.
You have reached the end of the newsletter. This speech, below, from Professor Severus Snape in Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone is wonderful. Alan Rickman is an international treasure and deeply missed.
“There will be no foolish wand-waving or silly incantations in this class. As such, I don't expect many of you to appreciate the subtle science and exact art that is potion-making. However, for those select few...
Who possess, the predisposition... I can teach you how to bewitch the mind and ensnare the senses. I can tell you how to bottle fame, brew glory, and even put a stopper in death.“ - Severus Snape
