This week, I have been stuck in my head too much, overthinking and overanalyzing every decision. I have been trying to be kind to myself, but it is frustrating after a few days.
Finally, today, I decided to flip back through my sketchbooks to see if that would help. Looking back at stuff I have scribbled and drawn before has always been a way for my past self to remind the current me (aka future me) that drawing is fun and that I have created interesting illustrations before and will do it again. It was just the creative kick I needed to jump-start my ideas.
The sketches that caught my attention were from March of last year. I did recreate the sketchbook ideas digitally, but in this case, the originals were the best. It was also funny that the sketches were all on top of yellow shapes, since last week’s newsletter was brought to us by the color yellow.
The shapes were the starting point for these sketches. I thought I would create the rough shapes again and see what new drawings I created this time around. I did add a few more colors this time.
A Blank Copy for You
