I started my Halloween drawings this week. I knew that I wanted to draw a witch, or a Halloween cat, or both. It could be because I started watching the new Disney+ series Agatha All Along and rewatched the original Hocus Pocus.
While drawing these characters, I thought about magic, not in the sense of the supernatural but rather the creative spark that we all have inside of us. The magic of what brings us joy.
My magic spark is drawing. I realize that when I have not drawn in a few days, I get anxious and frustrated. When we find ourselves losing our creative spark and happiness, we owe it to ourselves to make time to find our magic again. A few minutes a day or even a week of doing something creative can help us keep our magic flowing.
Find your magic!
Be kind to yourself on your creative journey.

You made it to the end of the newsletter. There were many songs that I thought about including this week, the most obvious is Donovan’s Season of the Witch, but I wanted something that reminded us of the magic we were seeking. Electric Light Orchestra’s (ELO) Strange Magic is much happier and magical. 🪄😊
Purple is my favorite. And giving Halloween, Purple primary color makes it all the more interesting.
This is so inspiring to find the magic inside of us. Thank you!
