A Jolly Old Elf & Holiday Coloring Pages
I’m running behind this week because, as always, I was overly ambitious with what I wanted to create for the newsletter. I kept adding more illustrations and ideas to the mix.
The Idea
There was a Christmas book from my childhood that my grandparents would read to us, “The Night Before Christmas.” It was based on the 1822 poem “A Visit from St. Nicholas,” which is often referred to as “Twas the Night Before Christmas.”
I loved that poem and the book, but more so my grandparents or parents reading it to me and my sister. The book had this cool cover and great illustrations. Puppet Storybooks, the book publisher, had started creating 3D covers with lenticular printing, which was pretty high tech when this book was printed in 1969.
A right jolly old elf
A phrase from the poem got stuck in my head: “a right jolly old elf.” At first I thought about creating another Draw with Andy segment, but then I got the idea to create printable pages for the holidays that could be either coloring pages or ready to print for things like gift tags and holiday cards. The final idea being a combination of gift tags, greeting cards, and coloring pages.
Holiday Coloring & Activity Mini-Book
The book has 3 different coloring pages: one for gift tags, one for a holiday card, and one to color and decorate your own holiday tree. There is also a finished version of the gift tags and greeting card.
Perfect for families, teachers, and anyone who loves to color.
Print over & over again!!
Self-published and approved for all ages!!!
Feel free to print as many copies as the kids can color, but please DO NOT distribute digital files in any way. All digital downloads are for personal use ONLY. Artwork may not be edited, reproduced, or resold without the express permission of Andy McNally. Copyright 2024 Andy McNally.
The Holiday Coloring and Activity Mini-Book is available for download in my Ko-Fi Art Shop. The book is a free digital download and you can pay whatever you want.
