I’ve talked about the importance of keeping a sketchbook before. Making time to draw, sketch, doodle, and write is important. It is the time for us to practice, have fun, and explore ideas without the judgement of others.
It is important to keep some sort of sketchbook with you to capture your sketches and ideas. I have different size sketchbooks depending on where I am. I even have a small Moleskine sketchbook that is about the size of my phone that I carry with me in my back pocket, if I can carry much with me and draw if I’m waiting in line or even at a restaurant.
The other night I was watching Hocus Pocus 2. I had not created any sketches or doodles in the day, so I decided to sketch some of the characters. The movie has a spell book named Book in the movie.
I have never found a spell book, but I have seen plenty of people's sketchbooks that are magic. We are the ones who create the magic.
Make some magic today. Draw, sketch, doodle, or write in your sketchbook, even if only for five minutes.
Be kind to yourself on your creative journey.
